When exactly did Urbo become an actual word. Because, my band, the Urbosleeks came up with our band name in 1993, completely made it up, we invented the word - Urbo - or did we accidentally use a word already in existence?

Quite a long time ago. L. L. Zamenhof officially defined urbo in his 1894 Universala Vortaro. ~ Robin (talk) 11:17, 3 June 2012 (UTC)
