Aware only!

A person self-describing as "woke" (not "wokie" which is a derogatory diminutive) is someone who sees social justice in a particular light, namely that of seeing whiteness, maleness, and heterosexual orientation, as criteria for social condemnation and exclusion. The word "woke" was appropriated from the Afro-american slang, where indeed it meant someone who became aware of social justice issues, especially racism against black Americans. 172.103.222.67 20:35, 19 April 2023 (UTC)
