The vulva is never the same thing as 'vagina'. Please don't perpetuate this misogynistic misunderstanding; it's absolutely inexcusable no matter how much it has permeated (American) culture. The vagina is only ever the channel inside the woman's body, never the entirety of female genitalia and never the external part of it, which is called the vulva. The Hindu yoni symbolises the entirety of the female reproductive system and should not be referred to as 'vaginal' any more than male genitalia should be referred to as just 'testicles.' --Snowgrouse (talk) 00:20, 10 October 2015 (UTC)Reply

Seconded. It's the linguistic equivalent of genital mutilation. Saintrain (talk) 20:50, 10 October 2015 (UTC)Reply
But "yonic" is used in reference to things symbolic of the vagina as well. It may not be proper but it does happen. [1] [2] [3] [4]73.173.231.226 22:36, 10 October 2015 (UTC)Reply
