Etymology[edit]
From Ulfilas + -an. The first element is Latinized from the unattested Gothic form *𐍅𐌿𐌻𐍆𐌹𐌻𐌰 (*wulfila, “little wolf”), from 𐍅𐌿𐌻𐍆𐍃 (wulfs).
