Digraphs[edit]
In Afar, long vowels and long consonants are written by doubling the letter:
- ⟨a⟩ /ʌ/; ⟨aa⟩ /aː/
- ⟨g⟩ /ɡ/; ⟨gg⟩ /ɡː/
