Latin is currently a limited-documentation language, not listed at WT:WDL. However, following the Renaissance and the invention of the printing press, an explosion of Latin texts began to be printed in Europe, many (most?) of which are scanned and searchable in Google Books.

As a consequence, we should classify this period of Latin as a "language well documented on the Internet", requiring three citations before a word can be included. This will help us to eliminate nonces, typos, errors and solecisms from our Latin coverage.

I propose to operationalise this as follows:

  • post-1500 Latin* is to be listed at WT:WDL;
  • the asterisk refers to the following two notes at the bottom of the page:
    • A citation from a text written or published before 1500 counts as 3 citations for the purposes of CFI/RFV;
    • A citation from a text written or published in or after 1500 counts as 1 citation for the purposes of CFI/RFV.

Obviously this is not perfect, and subject to quite some ambiguity, but these can be dealt with on a case-by-case basis at RFVI; it would be impossible to codify these rules to capture all edge cases.
