Yahoo!辞書 サービス終了のお知らせ[edit]

Do you happen to know if Yahoo!辞書 and コトバンク are the same thing? Can I continue to use コトバンク after May 31 when Yahoo!辞書 is shut down? Thanks.

(By the way, looking up 精選版 日本国語大辞典 entries in kotobank is a pain due to grouping wago by kanji :) --Dine2016 (talk) 16:25, 18 April 2019 (UTC)Reply

I think they're the same, but I've never been sure. The search bar on Kotobank sends me to dic.yahoo.co.jp... The text at the end of the page recommends using Kotobank so 🤷
(mm, Yahoo Japan has been closing a lot of stuff lately...) —Suzukaze-c 17:00, 18 April 2019 (UTC)Reply

The search box is not functioning but you can still look up entries with an external search engine like Bing :)
By the way, I wonder why Japanese monolingual dictionaries, including Nihon Kokugo Daijiten, have no labels like "rare", "archaic", "obsolete" and the like. Ironically I have to rely on 《现代日汉大词典》 (1987, 商务印书馆) for them. --Dine2016 (talk) 08:38, 4 June 2019 (UTC)Reply
