Words that are defined here can be in a wide variety of languages, including Hindi, which is why there are words written in Nagari here (and also in Gurmukhi, Arabic, Cyrillic, and lots of other scripts). Our entries are about terms from all languages (in their original scripts), but they're written in English. Other Wiktionaries have entries about the same terms, but they're written in the languages of the other Wiktionaries. Why should someone from the United States have to learn Swahili in order to learn what jambo means? Or Hindi to learn what नमस्ते (namaste) means? Do you know enough Chinese to read the definition at zh:你好? Why should someone who doesn't speak English have to read our English definitions for English terms? And what about terms in languages with no Wiktionaries, such as Sumerian? Chuck Entz (talk) 02:26, 1 July 2018 (UTC)

@Chuck Entz: No doubt, I agree with your rationale. But why having the term "कुक्षि" as it is in Hindi script in English Wiktionary? It should be like "Kukshi" and the Hindi version can be mentioned down below which will be linked to Hindi Wiktionary. Harshrathod50 (talk) 06:54, 1 July 2018 (UTC)
