Welcome[edit]

Hello, welcome to Wictionary. You will find that there are other editors who are available to give advice should you need it. So I'm sorry to start off by asking you to add an extra heading to your very welcome Greek proper nouns added over the last few days. Because - as you will know - Greek nouns are usually inflected they need to have a declension table in addition to other information. You DON'T have to know what it is, but so that we can keep entries compete we need to know which ones need tables adding. Please could you add the following to nouns, adjecyives, verbs etc:

 ====Declension====
  {{rfinfl|el|noun}}/

The part-of-speech should be approriate and the heading for verbs should be Conjugation. This will place such words in a category like Category:Requests for inflections in Greek noun entries where eventually someone will attend to adding the inflection table.
You seem to have managed very well so far, so thanks again and "more power to your elbow"! — Saltmarsh. 11:20, 2 May 2021 (UTC)Reply

Thanks[edit]

Thank you for noting the need for an inflection table heading+request if necessary. A reference to the English Wikipedia is not normally needed and is reserved for "English" entries where they should normally found under "further reading" (the top of page wiki-box is deprecated — It used to be widespread until some years ago there was "some" agreement that it should not be there). You can include an in-line link to Wikpedia thus: w:Greek language

  • There are some "model" Greek pages listed in Category:Greek model pages — they are there for discussion - so please do discuss!
  • I see from your {{Babel}} score that your Greek is probably much better than mine - so please tell me if you see a mistake. User:Sarri.greek is Greek and very helpful.
  • If you write on someone's talk page, you will have noted that the system draws your attention to its presence.
  • If you write on A's talk page you can draw a 3rd party's attention by including {{ping|3rd-Party}} in the text.
  • You can also write (for example) [[User:3rd-Party]]
Thanks again for your help, we hope that you will continue! — Saltmarsh. 11:59, 4 May 2021 (UTC)Reply
I just have noted that my last sentence is incomplete, it should have read:
  • You can also write (for example) [[User:3rd-Party]] in the edit summary box below the edit area"
if you wish to draw their attention to what you have done. — Saltmarsh. 05:28, 5 May 2021 (UTC)Reply
