Format

Please take the time to look over standard formatting conventions on WT:ELE. For example, only a language name should ever appear as a level-2 section header. All all headers should be level-3 or deeper. This is very different from conventions used on Wikipedia. --EncycloPetey 05:49, 28 December 2006 (UTC)

This is the name of a fictional/game character which is not used attributivly outside of the game - thus it fails to meet our Criteria for Inclusion. Please do not reenter the term. --Versageek 06:06, 28 December 2006 (UTC)

This does not meet WT:CFI, it has been deleted. Note that "hiding" entries on a user sub-page to try to get them indexed by a search engine isn't acceptable either. Robert Ullmann 06:17, 28 December 2006 (UTC)

That's why I thought if wikipedia has a article about something, you could write a simple definition here on wiktionary.com. Wiki Kong 06:41, 28 December 2006 (UTC)

Sorry, but that's not how it works. There are plenty of items that have articles on Wikipedia but will never have an entry in Wiktionary, likewise there are plenty of words defined in Wiktionary that will never have articles on Wikipedia. (edit conflict) As you can see, it doesn't quite work that way: there are lots of proper names, people, places, etc that have WP entries, but aren't dictionary entries. And the other way around: lots of very interesting words that don't rate a WP entry. Robert Ullmann 06:46, 28 December 2006 (UTC)

No, you really can't squirrel away definitions on user subpages to evade CFI. And note that re-creating deleted pages is cause for an immediate block. (which I haven't done ;-) This is WP material, and well-covered there. Robert Ullmann 06:28, 28 December 2006 (UTC)
