From Latin villa Sentarii,[1] genitive of Sentarius, from a Suevic and/or Gothic personal name, from a compound *Sinþaharjaz, from Proto-Germanic *sinþaz (“journey; companion”) and *harjaz (“army, warrior”).[2]
