Archiving rejected requests?

Are they SoP? If not, what are the criteria?

@Eirikr, TAKASUGI Shinji, Nibiko, Wyang Hi. Are these terms SoP in Japanese? 訪中(ほうちゅう) (hōchū) is already defined. What about these:

• 訪米(ほうべい) (hōbei)
• 訪日(ほうにち) (hōnichi)
• 訪露(ほうろ) (hōro)
• 訪欧(ほうおう) (hōō)

The list is incomplete but it probably won't be too long.

They are clearly words in their own right. There are not so many countries that can be expressed with a single character (less than 20, I think). — TAKASUGI Shinji (talk) 08:50, 2 October 2016 (UTC)

大辞林/Daijirin has 訪欧, 訪日, and 訪米. 大辞泉/Daijisen has 訪欧, 訪韓, 訪中, 訪日, and 訪米. I would say that the distinction between these compounds and 仏英辞典 is that in the former, the characters are used affixally, and in the latter, the characters are used as abbreviations or attributively. @Eirikr, TAKASUGI Shinji, Nibiko, Wyang OK. I have created 訪日(ほうにち) (hōnichi) and included some "See also's", which show that this pattern is not unique. I'm sure there are more combinations of "kanji with a verb sense" + "country name expressed with a single character". BTW, the discussion was inspired by Wiktionary:Requested_entries_(Chinese)#Mandarin, e.g. 留美 to stay/study in the US. --Anatoli T. ^{(обсудить}/^вклад) 06:14, 3 October 2016 (UTC)
