Context labels[edit]

So is the implication that we'd write

# [[happy]]
# {{slang}} [[high|High]].

, because one definition line "consists solely of a term that can be directly substituted for the headword", while the other one also has a context label? If not — and even if so — I think we need some examples. —RuakhTALK 15:51, 13 March 2009 (UTC)Reply

Good point; I've changed "definition line" to "definition". I've also added a modified version of your example, but only to the explanatory section of the vote. Here's my thinking: if we change our general approach to policy -- as I hope we will -- so that non-controversial examples can be added and modified by consensus, then the examples won't need to be VOTEd in anyway; if not, then frankly I'd rather have no examples at all than be stuck with examples that will eventually become obsolete but which can only be modified by going through all this rigmarole again. -- Visviva 06:23, 14 March 2009 (UTC)Reply
