Why?[edit]
@Julia, can you explain why you want to become an admin? To what end? --{{victar|talk}}

- @Victar: The most useful tool would be able to speedily delete things myself in languages I work on like Alemannic German and Cimbrian. I would also like to be able to edit some of the Module:languages data. Julia ☺ ☆ 15:13, 2 August 2019 (UTC)
- @Julia: Adding
{{delete}}
isn't speedy enough? Works fine for me. You can edit Module:languages with Template Editor privileges. You don't need to be an admin for that. --{{victar|talk}}
16:45, 2 August 2019 (UTC)- @Victar: Those would just be the tools I used the most in day-to-day editing. Other tools aren't really on my radar, like rollbacking or blocking, because I don't patrol recent edits very often because it's tedious to do without said tools. Julia ☺ ☆ 16:40, 5 August 2019 (UTC)
- @Julia: Can you show me examples of when you've needed to do such things? --

16:49, 5 August 2019 (UTC)- @Victar: For the deletions, I have had to move hundreds of Alemannic German and Cimbrian entries because they were entered using dictionary spellings that aren't used in writings outside that (e.g. extra diacritics to show stress and such). For the module data, there are many languages assigned to "unknown" families that have reliable sources giving families. If you're asking about the rollbacking and blocking, I would probably start just using them for obvious vandalism. Julia ☺ ☆ 16:58, 5 August 2019 (UTC)
- @Julia: I mean the latter, "rollbacking or blocking". Also, if you're moving pages, you can do so with page mover role permissions, again, without needing admin tools. --

17:09, 5 August 2019 (UTC)- @Victar: I know; I recently became an extended mover, but I still have to do deletions if the target page already exists. Julia ☺ ☆ 17:14, 5 August 2019 (UTC)
- And in those rare cases,
{{delete}}
should be fine. I'm still inquiring re:"rollbacking or blocking" however. --{{victar|talk}}
