Etymology[edit]
Contraction of baszd meg, the second-person singular imperative of the verb megbasz, a prefixed form of basz (an alternative form of baszik, chiefly in transitive senses, with prefixes).

- (vulgar, colloquial) Used as a filler, for emphasis.
- (vulgar, colloquial) Expressing dismay, discontent, displeasure, surprise, or even admiration. Not unlike shit or fuck in English.
