Etymology[edit]

Inherited from Ottoman Turkish بالذات (biẕẕat),[1][2] from Arabic بِالذَّات (bi-ḏ-ḏāt), from بِـ (bi-) +‎ اَلْ (al-) +‎ ذَات (ḏāt),[3] equivalent to biz- +‎ zat (person).
