Pronunciation[edit]
- (Hà Nội) IPA(key): [kaː˧˦ t͡ɕe˧˧]
- (Huế) IPA(key): [kaː˨˩˦ ʈej˧˧]
- (Hồ Chí Minh City) IPA(key): [kaː˦˥ ʈej˧˧]
Noun[edit]
(classifier con) cá trê • (个/𩵜 + 徹/鯔/𩵾/𩸴)
- (zoology) airbreathing catfish
- Synonym: cá hẻn
Usage notes[edit]
- In written Vietnamese (especially in literary contexts), as with many terms for fish, the short trê is sometimes used instead of cá trê.
