Alternative forms[edit]

Etymology[edit]

From cyf- +‎ gweld.

Pronunciation[edit]

Verb[edit]

cyfweld (first-person singular present cyfwelaf)

  1. (transitive) to interview

Usage notes[edit]

As the stress is on the final syllable, technically, this should be spelt with a hyphen as cyf-weld. However, the older spelling cyfweld is very familiar and so extremely common.
