Usage notes[edit]

When it comes to topics of discussion, dẹp is deliberate in that it commands silence on it, while kệ (“to ignore”) is non-committal. Compare:

  • Dẹp đi ! (“Stop talking about it!”)
  • Kệ đi ! (“Don't let it bother you!”)
