Etymology[edit]

From Proto-Tocharian *eṅk- (whence also Tocharian A eṃts-), from Proto-Indo-European *h₂neḱ-. Cognates include English enough and near, Latin nanciscor, and Sanskrit आनट् (ānaṭ).
