- Men jag snappa upp, att pardon det betyder nåd—, mon diu[sic] betyder min pinna dö, och detta sista svor fröknen så tidt de parlamenterade, så de voro inte värst fina i munnen, när de talte turkiska.
- But I caught that pardon means forgive me—, mon diu means oh my Lord, and the lady swore on this last fact all the time while they parleyed, so they weren't that clean-mouthed while speaking Turkish.
