Etymology[edit]
Inherited from Ottoman Turkish كت كیده or كیت كیده (git gide),[1] from كتمك (gitmek), equivalent to compound of git (“to go”, 2nd P. Sg. imperative) + gide (3rd P. Sg. optative).
