From hak + -yć. First attested in the second half of the 18th century.[1][2]

haczyć impf
- (intransitive, colloquial) to be hooked (to come into contact with a protruding part of an object while moving, so that there is an impact or a momentary catching of the two objects) [+ o (accusative) = on what] [+instrumental = with what]
- (transitive, colloquial) to hook (to use a sharp object to hook something on)
- (intransitive) to come into contact with (to have had some experience with) [+ o (accusative) = with what]
- (transitive, climbing) to hook (to place hooks in a climbing face to allow climbing)
- (transitive, colloquial, computing) to hack (to gain unauthorized access to (a computer system, e.g., a website, or network) by manipulating code)
