  1. (aviation, meteorology) An aircraft used to fly through hurricanes, or into the eye of hurricanes, to collect meteorological data, and sea surface data.
  2. (aviation, meteorology) A member of the aircrew of such aircraft.
  3. (meteorology) A storm chaser specializing in hurricanes, as a profession, meteorologist, journalist, or hobby.
