Borrowed from Kapampangan ebun (“egg”), from Proto-Central Luzon *ʔəybun, from Northern Proto-Philippine *ʀubun (“egg”). Compare Sambali oybon (“egg”), Ilongot lubun, Casiguran Dumagat Agta bunay, Bikol Central bunay, and Waray-Waray bunay.
