Etymology[edit]

From Danicized Norwegian skader ikke or a Calque of Russian не повредит (ne povredit), both with the same meaning. Compare Norwegian Nynorsk skadar ikkje, dialectal Norwegian skade itj and English it wouldn't hurt.
