Albanian[edit]

Etymology[edit]

Orel suggests a derivation from Proto-Slavic *kočura (hummock), which is otherwise unattested in South Slavic and poses semantic problems.[1] Topalli argued an internal formation from çurrel (thin stream of water).[2]
