Etymology[edit]

Possibly a partial calque of Italian campanelli (glockenspiel), plural of campanello (bell, doorbell, handbell), from campana (bell) + -ello (hypocoristic suffix), the latter of which was substituted with the diminutive suffix -et- in Esperanto.
