Etymology[edit]

From Proto-Tocharian *kuk(ä)le (whence also Tocharian B kokale), from Proto-Indo-European *kʷékʷlos, a form of *kʷel- (to turn). Cognate with English wheel, Ancient Greek κύκλος (kúklos), Lithuanian kaklas (neck), etc.
