Hutchins (1909) records m'Ringa as the Kikuyu name for Cordia holstii.[2]
Pronunciation[edit]
- As for Tonal Class, Benson (1964) classifies this term into Class 9 with a disyllabic stem, together with gĩcũhĩ, njũi, and so on.

mũringa class 3 (plural mĩringa)
- large-leafed cordia (Cordia africana, syn. C. abyssinica, C. holstii); traditionally used for making hives and stools[3][4]
