Etymology[edit]

From Ottoman Turkish مقدرات, plural of مقدر, from Arabic مُقَدَّر (muqaddar), passive participle of قَدَّرَ (qaddara, to determine, estimate, foresee). Formally, the Arabic plural of mukadder.
