Usage notes[edit]

  • Näringsliv (business life, predominantly privately owned) is the opposite of public institutions (schools, government agencies) in many political discussions.
  • The various trades can either be called näring (åkerinäring, fiskerinäring) or bransch (bilbransch, stålbransch).
