Etymology[edit]
nfrw (“beauty”) + bjtj (“king of Lower Egypt”), thus literally ‘the beauty of the king of Lower Egypt’. The written form apparently demonstrates honorific transposition; however, some authors read the name without transposition, as bjtj-nfrw.
