Etymology[edit]
Fairly recent, possibly contamination from obor + oddíl;[1] Jungmann’s Czech–German Dictionary (1834–39) listed the word only with the mathematical meaning of lemma, Heischesatz,[2] quoting Marek’s Logic.[3]
