From Contraction of òrùngbẹ, ultimately proposed to derive from Proto-Yoruboid *òlṵ̀gbə , cognate with Igala òlùgbẹ. Equivalent to ò- (nominalizing prefix) +‎ rùn +‎ gbẹ (to become emaciated or evaporated)
