para grass (countable and uncountable, plural para grasses)

  1. A tall rather coarse grass (Panicum molle) grown in the tropics for pasturage, and introduced into the southern United States.
  2. A valuable pasture grass (Panicum barbinode) introduced into the Southern United States from Brazil.
  3. An African grass, Urochloa mutica (or Brachiaria mutica), widely introduced elsewhere as a fodder plant, in some areas becoming an invasive weed.
  4. piassava fiber.
