Albanian[edit]
Etymology[edit]
Phonetically matches the expected Tosk outcome of a Vulgar Latin borrowing **pūttāna,[1] whence Italian puttana, but this is contrasted by the fact that the Italian term is likely from Gallo-Romance[2] and that the word survived only in Arbëresh.
