From Proto-Finnic *reki (compare Estonian regi), possibly borrowed from Baltic (compare Latvian ragavas, Lithuanian ragės).

- sledge, sleigh (vehicle, generally pulled by an animal, which moves over snow or ice on runners, used for transporting persons or goods)
Usage notes[edit]
- Small snow vehicles with runners are usually called kelkka, and those without runners may be called pulkka or ahkio.
