  1. To deliver a spoken or written account or report of something one has been asked or required to do or investigate.

      Safety authorities and public bodies such as the ORR and Network Rail are required to report back to RAIB on how any recommendations addressed to them have been considered and what actions have or are planned to be taken.
  2. To return, to come back, usually in order to report information.
