Noun[edit]

ricinuleid (plural ricinuleids)

  1. (zoology) Any member of the Ricinulei (hooded tickspiders).
    • 2009, James B. Nardi, Life in the Soil: A Guide for Naturalists and Gardeners, page 113:
A ricinuleid grabs its prey with the relatively small pincers of its pedipalps, lifts its hood, and then passes the prey to its jaws. The hood is lowered as the ricinuleid chews away.
