- to tell (instruct or inform)
- Säg åt henne att sluta upp med det där!

Usage notes[edit]
- Particle verb. Stress on åt.
- Has a tone of disapproval in contemporary Swedish, hence usually of irritatedly telling someone (not) to do something, telling off, and the like.
- (sense 2) can be thought of (sense 1) with the thing being said (the telling off) implied.
