Borrowed from Marathi शीघ्र (śīghra), from Sanskrit शीघ्र (śīghra, quick).

shigram (plural shigrams)

  1. In India, a carriage drawn by animals.
    • 1853, Thomas Quinney, Sketches of a soldier's life in India:
      I afterwards bought a shigram, a kind of coach usually drawn by two bullocks, and which is much used in India.
