Russenorsk[edit]

Alternative forms[edit]

The form skirom is also known, but only in a song context sung by a Russian, when the sound e became unstressed (because of the rules of the Russian speech when the ending -om became stressed, but probably only for rhyming purposes).

Etymology[edit]

Probably from Russian шкерить (škeritʹ, to gut fish, remove the scales from fish) or Norwegian Nynorsk rotskjere (to gut fish).

Verb[edit]

skerom

  1. to gut fish
