1. Alternative form of spellmaster.
   • 1865 October 26, The Sydney Morning Herald, volume LII, number 8559, page 4, column 4:

     The mesmerist often displays his magical power over his patients by throwing his mind into the mind of the patient—by imparting to him his impressions—by making him speak what he commands and do what he directs. The normal resistance of the patient is overcome by the stronger will, and his imagination bows to the spell-master who entrances him.

     The spell-master says the word, use it in a sentence and repeats the word; then the teams have 30 seconds to spell the word on their whiteboards.
