- Nguyên là Nho-giáo không phải là một tông-giáo như các tông-giáo khác. Tông-giáo nào cũng có tăng-lữ, có giáo-hội để giữ giới-luật, để giảng-dạy và truyền đạo theo một sự tổ-chức có kỷ-luật rất nghiêm-mật. Nho-giáo không có những hình-thức ấy, không có sự tổ-chức ấy, chỉ để cho những người đi học là bọn sĩ-phu được tự-do theo kinh Truyện mà học-tập, mà giảng-dạy, miễn là đem thi-hành cái đạo của thánh-hiền để giữ vững cái nền luân-thường đạo-lý trong nhân-quần xã-hội là được.
- The reason is that Ruism was not just a religion like any other. Any religion necessarily involves a clergy and a church to keep its laws, to teach and proselytize according to a level of organization with an esoteric dogma. Ruism had none of those, no such organization, it only deferred to the learned men who freely learned from Scripture and taught, so long as they could carry out the way of the sages and keep the norms and ethics of society.
