Fula[edit]

Etymology[edit]

from Proto-Fula-Serer *regeƴ, whence also Serer regeƴ (meat). Root reduction in Fula causes the dropping of Proto-Fula-Serer medial -g- or sonorants between identical vowels. Compare Fula ɗem- from Proto-Fula-Serer *ɗelem.[1]

Noun[edit]

teewu ngu (plural teewuuji ɗi)

  1. (Pular, Adamawa, Maasina, Western Niger Fulfulde) meat, flesh
  2. muscle
