Etymology[edit]

Borrowed from Thai ต้มข่า (dtôm-kàa), from ต้ม (dtôm) + ข่า (kàa, “galangal”).

  1. A Thai soup or soup base: a spicy curry in coconut milk with galangal, usually made with chicken.
