Etymology 1[edit]
Possibly a doublet of quấn, from Proto-Mon-Khmer *wən(ʔ) (“coiled; to wind, bend”). Cognate with Khmer វៀន (viən, “to curl up”) and Mon ဝေန် (wèn, “to be crooked, deformed”).
