vulpid (plural vulpids)
- (zoology) Any member of the true fox genus (Vulpes).

- According to Hottentot legend, the cape fox feeds on ostrich eggs by rolling them over rocks until they break open. Little is known about reproductive behavior and life span of this small vulpid.
