Bulgarian[edit]

Etymology[edit]

Formally equivalent to кра́са (krása, beauty) (archaic) +‎ -ат (-at), but semantically questionable. Per St. Mladenov, ultimately from Proto-Indo-European *(s)ker- (to cut).
